SERVICES

Altitude works with governments and organizations to support emergency planning, response, and recovery. We help communities protect important places, values at risk, and knowledge during emergencies. Our tools make it easier to see what is at risk, guide action in the field, and support leadership in making clear decisions.

Our work includes developing visual planning tools and protection guides that bring together photos, maps, heritage and land data, TEK and field notes in one easy-to-understand view. This helps leadership, guardians, field crews, and community members share their understanding of a place, whether they are on the ground or supporting from afar. We focus on practical tools that strengthen local decision-making, protect sensitive assets, and support long-term stewardship.

Fieldwork and Operations

  • Create immersive site views that help people understand important places and conditions on the ground.
  • Develop and implement protection, mitigation, and stabilization guides for heritage sites, cultural areas, infrastructure, and other values at risk.
  • Support planning, response, documentation, and recovery for emergencies.
  • Provide risk analysis and action prioritization so sites can be identified and protected appropriately.
  • Improve the sharing of information between leadership, guardians, field crews, and outside partners.

Data Analysis and Visualization

  • Combine maps, photos, local knowledge, survey information, and data into a visual platform.
  • Create simple, visual site briefings that support both remote and in-person planning.
  • Enable decision-makers to see site conditions, event impacts, access issues, and protection needs.
  • Turn complex information into shared visual understanding that is easier to communicate across departments, governments, and communities.

Planning and Capacity Building

  • Support pre-incident planning, so communities are more prepared before emergencies happen, using community-based approaches that reflect local priorities, values, and knowledge.
  • Provide training and learning tools to build local capacity in stewardship, risk reduction, and emergency readiness and resiliency.
  • Utilize a partnership approach that supports Indigenous stewardship, long-term resilience, and stronger local decision-making.
